Welcome to Yoake Sou, a small-scale Shiba Inu kennel based in Amsterdam, where the health, character and wellbeing of our Shibas come first.
Our story
Dawn of a new day
Yoake means the moment when night gives way to the first morning light. A new beginning. That meaning reflects exactly what our kennel stands for: the start of a new adventure, a dream coming true that we build with great love and dedication.
At Yoake we breed the Japanese Shiba Inu as the breed is meant to be: healthy, with a stable character and with respect for the original type. Health, character and genetic diversity form the basis of every choice we make.

- Character & wellbeing
Alongside health, we consider a stable, balanced character just as important. That is why our parent dogs are carefully selected for temperament, health and breed standard. They live indoors with us as full members of the family, and their wellbeing always comes first. Our puppies then grow up in that same loving home environment, where from an early age they get to know people, sounds and everyday situations.
- Genetic diversity
We choose combinations that contribute to a broad and healthy genetic base. This is how we help preserve a strong and healthy breed, now and in the long term.
We breed according to the guidelines of Nippon Inu, the NVAI and the Raad van Beheer, with health, character and preserving the breed as our foundation.
